Desde que nací en la Ciudad de Mexico

Soy la niña determinada y fuerte

La que vive con un deseo de lograr y impresionar

Soy Mexicana y Americana

Con pelo marrón y medio rizado

Pero en cualquier lugar que nos quedamos

Amor y pasión siempre será algo que tengamos

Fue una niña de seis años cuando tuve vergüenza que no pude hablar inglés

Fue una niña de once años, humillada cuado mis amigas conocieron a mi mamá

Asustada de que escuchen su accento Mexicano, de que vean su ropa tradicional

Asustada de ser diferente y extraña, asustada de verse mal

Ahora soy una mujer de dieciséis años, orgullosa de mi etnia y herencia

Soy la lengua española y inglesa, que trae historias de riqueza y pobreza

I was a six-year-old girl when I was ashamed that I couldn’t speak English

I was an eleven-year-old girl, humiliated when my friends met my mother

Scared that they will hear her Mexican accent, that they will see her traditional clothes

Scared of being different and strange, scared of looking bad

I am now a sixteen-year-old woman, proud of my ethnicity and heritage

I am the Spanish and English language, which brings stories of wealth and poverty

I am the two languages ​​even more beautiful than the pyramids of Teotihuacán
