pen. – Shivan Chhabra
You glisten on that thin white sheet
While announcing your strong presence to whoever looks at you.
You are not shy like the pencil
But rather confident in your words.
You don’t scratch but glide your way across that blue line,
And you make sure each letter feels beautiful on the page.
You turn those slanted lines into tall lines
You make those periods bold.
Silent yet deadly,
With hues of purple and white.
Your inky tip lies in wait
For someone to unleash its prowess.
You write down
Words that cannot be conveyed aloud.
You shade in that flower
Drawn at the end of the page.
You are number one
In the hearts of all that use you.
Without you my sentence would never begin.
